PC
ELECTRONICS TVC-2 ATV
DOWNCONVERTER - $20
The TVC-2 from PC Electronics is a 420-450 MHz downconverter used to
view fast-scan Amateur Television signals on a standard
television set on VHF Channel 3. It is varactor tuned to any
frequency in the 420 - 450 MHz band. It uses a low-noise MRF-901
RF stage for good performance.
The board is mounted in a small Bud box (includes cover, not shown) and
includes a 2-ft length of 50-ohm RG-58 coax with connector for the UHF
input, and 2-ft length of 75-ohm RG-59 coax with "F" connector for the
VHF channel 3 output.
Includes printed data sheet with schematic and board layout. I haven't
used this in many years since I got a cable-ready TV that receives 430
MHz ATV directly.
PC
ELECTRONICS TXA5-4 ATV TRANSMITTER - $25
The TXA5 from PC Electronics is a low power fast-scan ATV
transmitter/exciter for the 420 - 450 MHz amateur band. It is
crystal controlled on 439.25 MHz, and can be expanded to 2 channels
with the addition of another crystal and switch. It has 80mW RF
output, and is designed to drive an external amplifier module like the
PA-5 from PC Electronics. Linearity can be adjusted to compensate
for compression in the external amplifier. I just tested it on an
HP8524C service monitor and works perfectly. This board does not
have the 4.5 MHz subcarrier components loaded (for audio).
I cannot find the paperwork, but should be available from
PC Electronics.
